How to work the editor's three-panel layout.

Structure panel (left)

Hierarchical list of Sections and Clauses. An item with a blue dot still has placeholders to fill.

  • Click a clause to jump to it.
  • Drag to reorder (only where the template allows).
  • The menu icon opens quick actions: rename, duplicate, comment.

Center canvas

  • Double-click any paragraph to edit. There is no special mode.
  • Placeholders appear as highlighted text. Click to open an inline field.

The canvas is editable only while the document is in Draft state. Once sent for signature, it locks to preserve legal integrity.

AI Assistant panel (right)

Three tabs:

  1. Suggestions — drafting proposals based on context.
  2. Summary — auto-summary of the selected clause.
  3. Voice console — dictate changes in natural language.

Anything with a blue border or fill is an AI affordance. The rest of the editor sticks to the terracotta Pactmint palette.
