Placeholders and data

How Pactmint detects, orders, and fills editable fields.

Placeholders are the values that change between contracts: names, dates, amounts, addresses.

Placeholder types

  • Single — one value (lease tenant, signing date).
  • Repeated — the same value appears multiple times. Fill once, Pactmint propagates the rest.
  • Conditional — toggles an entire clause based on the value.

Auto-detection

When you open a Format, Pactmint scans the document and lists pending placeholders. The header indicator shows X of Y filled.

Working on your own Master? Ask Pactmint to re-scan from ⋯ → Scan placeholders. Useful after pasting new clauses.

Guided fill

The AI Assistant proposes values when it already knows the project context (e.g. you registered the client earlier). Confirm with Enter or overwrite freely.
